Clinical Study
Prevention for Adults at Risk of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD)
Older adults may be at risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). This is the buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances on the walls of the artery. Statin is a medication that can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Research is needed to learn the benefit of using statins in the prevention of ASCVD. This will help us develop a model for assessing risk factors for ASCVD. The information we gain may aid future patients.
